Ofir Haivry
Ofir Haivry is Shalem’s Director of Studies and an Associate Fellow. He has a Ph.D. in History from University College of London (UCL) and is the Founding Editor of Azure, a quarterly journal of Jewish ideas. Ofir is also the Founding Editor of Shalem Press’ Leviathan series of translations into Hebrew of classics from the western philosophical tradition.
He is a member of the Council for Higher Education (CHE), Israel’s supreme academic supervising body. He also serves as a member of the official committee overseeing the implementation of centers of academic excellence within Israel’s university system.
Ofir is also a member of the Steering Committee of TAMAR (Prime Minister’s Office), a project for the restoration and empowerment of Israel’s National Heritage Infrastructure.
